Detailed itinerary

Upon arriving at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, you'll be greeted and transferred to your hotel. The rest of the day can be spent resting after your journey or exploring nearby attractions, depending on your arrival time. In the evening, you’ll likely attend a welcome briefing about your upcoming trek.

The second day begins with either a scenic six to eight-hour drive or a quick 25-minute flight to Pokhara, a picturesque city by Phewa Lake. Once there, you can enjoy a leisurely exploration of Pokhara’s lively markets, cafes, and lakeside areas while taking in the breathtaking views of the Annapurna range.

You’ll start the day with a 1.5-hour drive to Nayapul, where your trek officially begins. The initial trek is relatively easy, following the Modi Khola river. You’ll gradually make your way to Tikhedhunga, a quaint village at 1,570 meters, offering a glimpse into rural Nepalese life.

This day involves a challenging ascent up the steep stone steps to Ulleri, a village at 2,070 meters. From there, you’ll trek through dense forests of oak and rhododendron, eventually reaching Ghorepani at 2,850 meters. Ghorepani is known for its stunning panoramic mountain views.

An early morning hike to Poon Hill (3,210 meters) is rewarded with a spectacular sunrise over the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges. After soaking in the views, you’ll return to Ghorepani for breakfast. The trek then continues through beautiful forests and along ridges to Tadapani at 2,630 meters.

The trek to Chomrong involves descending through forests and climbing up again to this charming village at 2,170 meters. Chomrong offers incredible views of Annapurna South and Machapuchare (Fishtail), making it a perfect spot for rest and acclimatization.

Today’s trek takes you deeper into the valley. After descending to the Chomrong Khola, you’ll ascend through dense bamboo and rhododendron forests. Your destination is Dovan, a peaceful spot at 2,600 meters, surrounded by forest and less frequented by other trekkers.

As you trek towards Deurali, you’ll notice a gradual change in the landscape. The trail passes through a mix of forests and rocky terrain, steadily gaining altitude. Deurali, at 3,230 meters, is a small settlement that acts as a gateway to the higher altitudes and the majestic Annapurna Sanctuary.

This is one of the most anticipated days of your trek. You’ll make your final ascent through alpine meadows and rocky moraine, eventually reaching Annapurna Base Camp at 4,130 meters. Surrounded by towering peaks, this location offers some of the most breathtaking views in the Himalayas.

Spend the morning exploring Annapurna Base Camp, taking in the stunning scenery and perhaps reflecting on your journey. Later, you’ll begin your descent, retracing your steps to Bamboo at 2,310 meters, enjoying a different perspective on the familiar trail.

The trek continues with a descent to the Chomrong Khola and an ascent to Chomrong, followed by a descent to Jhinu Danda at 1,780 meters. Here, you can unwind and relax in the natural hot springs near the Modi Khola river, a well-deserved treat after days of trekking.

On this day, you’ll complete your trek with a final walk down the Modi Khola valley to Nayapul. From there, you’ll be driven back to Pokhara, where you can celebrate the completion of your trek and enjoy some leisure time in this beautiful lakeside city.

You’ll head back to Kathmandu either by driving (six to eight hours) or taking a short flight (25 minutes). Once in Kathmandu, you have the day to explore more of the city, do some shopping, or simply relax and reflect on your adventure.
